illegal or NOT
In my opinion, the act of stunting
is NOT illegal. Its the act of causing
damage to other people's property that
is a criminal act weather it be with a stunt bicycle, crow bar, or an apple
pie.
The answer all depends on a
combination of the municipality you live, where you are riding, and how you are
riding.
For those who argue that stunting is a destructive activity that damages cement, marble, railings, etc, and associate it with bodies and bicycles flying through the air, do not have a full grasp of the sport. "Freestyle" or 'street stunting' are often responsible for the damage that occurs to property but are only 1 segment of many disciplines of stunting.
There are many disciplines of stunting that pose little risk to hand railings and cement curbs such as "slalom stunting" where the rider navigates a series of pylons or 'cones' set in a row one after another.
There are "carving" and "pumping" stunts that allow the rider to propel themselves forward with a side to side hip movement, an ideal activity for a flat bike path or open schoolyard.
